Cacatua moluccensis also known as the Moluccan or Salmon Crested Cockatoo is native to the Moluccas in Indonesia. A healthy Moluccan Cockatoo can live to be 80 years or more. King Tut, a Moluccan Cockatoo at the San Diego Zoo lived to be 100 years. Moluccan Cockatoos are often referred to as the Velcro Bird. They require frequent interaction during the day. They also require hand made or store bought toys that they can chew on. A healthy Moluccan needs lots of untreated lumber to rip on.
