Daron Louis Rahlves (born June 12, 1973, in
Walnut Creek,
California) is a former
alpine ski racer with the
U.S. Ski Team, widely regarded as the most successful American speed racer of all time. Raised in northern California, he attended the Green Mountain Valley School in
Vermont and currently resides in
Truckee, California. He retired from
World Cup racing at the end of the
2006 season with 12 World Cup victories and a world championship.
