Roman Polanski

Roman Raymond Polanski is an Academy Award-winning and four-time nominated Polish-French film director, writer, actor and producer. His most well-known films include Rosemary's Baby (1968) and Chinatown (1974). In 1978, Polanski was accused of and pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual relations with a minor. He evaded his sentence by fleeing to Europe and is now considered a fugitive from justice in the United States. In 2009, officials filed charges to have Polanski returned to the U.S. to face charges; appeals are continuing. He continues to direct films in Europe.
