Rudyard Kipling was an Indian-born English author. He is best remembered for his short stories such as Rikki-Tikki-Tavi and The Man Who Would Be King. Kipling won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907 and was offered knighthood and British Poet Laureateship, which he denied on multiple occasions. Kipling's works remain somewhat controversial, as themes of British supremacy and imperialism can be seen in them.
