Richard Wagner

Richard Wagner was a German opera composer and conductor. Wagner's compositions are highly regarded for their contrapuntal texture, rich chromaticism, harmonies and orchestration, and elaborate use of musical themes (leitmotifs. His popularization of Gesamtkunstwerk ("total artwork"), influenced classical European music.
